I don't want this, personally, because then it's all about the breeding? I found it more fun to have the magic strain as 'given by the Gods', if you know what I mean. Now, about the mutations, it might be fun to have a possibility to 'get it' by parentage, but as an option, so that you're still free to choose whether you'd like to do that or be free and choose your own mutations for your characters. Just putting my 2 cents here.
